Oil separation & heavy oil

Oil–water separation, heavy-oil applications and the supplied Chevron Bakersfield / Kern River field-pilot portfolio.

Recover value.
Resolve complexity.

Separation starts with the fluid, the emulsion and the operating environment.

Connect oil–water separation equipment with application-specific chemistry.

Our focus includes oil separation, heavy-oil applications, difficult emulsions and crude-conditioning challenges. Primary separation, coalescence, flotation and polishing are selected around the feed and the next process stage.

Engineering and chemistry work together: oil properties, solids, water quality, temperature, pressure and flow all inform the treatment route. Application evaluation and pilot work help define the design and its operating envelope.

The pilot combined ETS ENVIRO-CELL induced-gas flotation with activated filter media polishing ahead of ion-exchange resin treatment.

It explored the relationship between upstream oil removal, filter operation and the quality of water reaching the resin stage.
